You may have seen that the On the Front Lines Group is now accepting applications from those interested in joining its Expert Panel.
The mission of the On the Front Lines Group is to inspire community collaborations through the unified efforts of recovery professionals. The On the Front Lines Alliance will continue to build mutual respect and trust with local organizations across the tristate to end the atmosphere of competition amongst agencies, striving to create a distinguished continuum of care for the clients we serve. In the service of its mission, the Peer Advisory Board will utilize the experts, individuals with lived and shared experience, who will serve on an Expert Panel.
The Peer Advisory Board is a joint project composed of representatives from each of the On the Front Lines Alliance group who have lived experience with substance use disorder or mental illness. These members are seasoned professional peer recovery supporters, active participants, and leaders in their own recovery communities, who will be called upon to participate in groups and coalitions trying to solve problems and create programs. The PAB individuals make recommendations on program operations, groups offered, engagement, peer-support, and networking. Members will consult with and offer guidance on considerations concerning funding, policy, and best practice methods. This provides a platform for peers in the community to give them a voice in their treatment, recovery, work environment, and services available to better support a holistic, supportive, and inclusive recovery environment.
Individuals with lived experience, members of the On the Front Lines Alliance and with expertise in addiction prevention, treatment and recovery, public health and other related fields are encouraged to apply.
The board will be composed of nine-person expert panel. These individuals will be selected after interview process democratically by the majority vote of their OTFL peers. Members will serve without compensation.
